6 minute challenge, individual reflection of ideas

6 Minute Challenge.

In this challenge we had to pick 3 random factors, a location, a prop and a film name. We picked the location and props out of a bag while we got the random name from the random article generator on Wikipedia.

1. How easy was it to come up with an idea?
I found that it was not so hard to come up with an idea, the hard part was being able to match it  with your title. At first our group was struck by some very odd names which we found very difficult to work with. This resulted in us having to use the random article generator more than 3 times which we were not supposed to do. We ended up with the title "The Bongolo Department" this suited are them of a corrupt government well as it was ale to fit nicely as the name of the undercover organisation.

2. How easy was it to decide on how to open the film?
After coming up with an idea it was pretty easy to come up with a opening to the film, as we already had a basic plot. We were given the location of a supermarket car park and a prop of glasses in a glasses case, with these being forced upon us Nathan suggested that the car park could be where the undercover agents meet and the glasses could be used to signify one of the characters being undercover. This idea played out well so we decided to use it.

3. How successful do you think your ideas were?
I believe our group came up with a very unique idea which I could see as being an actual movie. It is both realistic and interesting which means it could capture an audience. We also used shot types in our storyboard which I believe represent our knowledge of shot types being used in the right places. Overall I believe our idea was very successful and unique.

4. Would I use the 6 minute challenge idea for my coursework?
Yes I would use parts of my knowledge gained as well as ideas from the 6 minute challenge. This is because I believe the challenge helped us understand how to come up with both a basic plot and title sequence for a film under pressure. I found that by thinking outside the box you will be able to come up with something fascinating and unique which I believe my group was able to do very well with the 6 minute challenge.
